Is it not because I have held My peace from of old That you do not fear Me?
To the world, God is silent, because He holds His peace. If He spoke directly, as a man speaks to his friend, the worldly would flee, as Israel hid before the mountain or Adam in the garden. Thank God for the shed blood of Jesus that allows us to stand before a holy God and to hear His voice clearly.
