Mark 1

10 And immediately, coming up from[d] the water, He saw the heavens parting and the Spirit descending upon Him like a dove. 11 Then a voice came from heaven, “You are My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.” 12 Immediately the Spirit drove Him into the wilderness.

When you know you are a Son, you are ready for sacrifice; it doen't work the other way round.

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”

That was Jesus' message. Does ours match? We know gospel means "good news". Is our emphasis on the good news or the bad news of the gospel? Conversely, do we neglect the call to repentance, to major lifestyle change?

23 Now there was a man in their synagogue with an unclean spirit. And he cried out, 24 saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are—the Holy One of God!”
25 But Jesus rebuked him, saying, “Be quiet, and come out of him!”

Demons recognise Authority. All authority delegates from the Father. If we are submitted to God's authority, we are then able to establish that authority in our surroundings through prayer and command.

35 Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

This is our pattern.
