Ezekial 17-20

(Chapter 18) A passage that speaks of individual accountability before God ('he shall not die for his father's iniquity') and individual repentance ('but if a wicked person turns away from all his sins...he shall surely live'). The chapter closes with a call - 'Sort yourself out!' We must take responsibility for our waywardness, and turn back to the Lord. I must put sin to death, and the sinner within - I must die so I can live! Lord, give me boldness to end the life that leads me away from you, and to walk resolutely on the path of righteousness.
