Numbers 21-26

The bronze serpent is lifted up, and those who look to it live. The story of Balaam reveals that a true prophet will never speak contrary to the word of the Lord. The census in chapter 26 reminds the reader of the many who had died by not trusting the Lord, and therefore did not enter into the promised land.
