20 “And if a man beats his male or female servant with a rod, so that he dies under his hand, he shall surely be punished. 21 Notwithstanding, if he remains alive a day or two, he shall not be punished; for he is his property.
??? He is his property? Physical beating is okay as long as the slave doesn't die... because he is his property??? I do not understand, but I know the God who gave this instruction (or like the divorce laws, this concession for our depravity) that He himself became a servant, and was beaten with rods.
