Exodus 26-28

30 And you shall raise up the tabernacle according to its pattern which you were shown on the mountain.

We should be serious in taking our strategies from the presence of God and not just what is popular. If Moses had based the design on the latest ideas, he would've built a pyramid. To do that would've taken longer than 40years, required large amounts of forced labour, and demanded that they never move on to the promised land. A building programme can sometimes throw a church off its outward vision, and become a containment facility. God isn't interested in buildings, or structures or programmes for their own sake..like the ark, they are just temporary, to get us to our destination.
